how to find your shade manually.
If you prefer to choose your shade by eye rather than using the AI scanner, here are a few tips from our colour experts to help you get the best match.
Match to your roots, not your ends. Your true hair colour is at the base, close to the scalp. The mid-lengths and ends are often lighter from sun exposure or styling. Lift a section near the crown and look at the first 2–3cm from the root — that’s the shade to match.
When in doubt, go darker. A slightly darker shade blends more naturally. Darker fibres disappear into your hair, while too light can stand out. If you’re between two shades, pick the darker one.
Consider your grey coverage. If you have a mix of grey and coloured hair, match to the dominant colour. For mostly grey hair, try our Grey or Dark Grey. For salt-and-pepper, Dark Grey blends the transition naturally.
Mix two shades for a custom match. Our fibres are fully mixable. If your hair has warm and cool tones, or sits between two shades, blend them for a tailored result.
